This
is an adaptation of that cookbook for the Internet. I have tried to keep the look and feel
the same as in the original cookbook. A table of contents has been added, it can be found
on page 4. Also added are recipes that did not make it into the original cookbook, they
are marked in red.
Camp McWain is a family camp. One of the things we do, besides Hiking, Swimming, Sailing,
Fishing, Golf, Tennis, Antiques, Relaxing, Reading and Outlet shopping in Conway, NH and
Freeport, ME (LLBean), etc. is having cookouts at the Point. The cookout usually is a
Lobster Bake. With steaks for those who dont like lobster or both for those who
cant make up their mind. I say usually, because we have had English High Tea,
complete with cucumber sandwiches, as well as Eggs Benedict Breakfast served at the Point.
You havent lived till you have tasted Eggs Benedict cooked over an open fire. Every
family brings one or two dishes for the communal table. As the cook-out is at the end of
the week these dishes can vary from "very simple" to "very refined" to
"use what ever is left in the fridge" depending on whether the family goes home
on Saturday or stays another week.
What started the cookbook? Families were always exchanging recipes, so we decided to
collect them and put them in a cookbook. I hope you enjoy looking at the cookbook as much
as I did getting it ready for the Web. Please let me know by signing the guest book.
Hereby I would like to thank the Muzik and the Whichard families for their hospitality
each and every year.
Sincerely, |
